Cheryl's 30 Day Weight Loss Challenge- Day 5

I am really needing to get better prepared for the beginning of December and what will present itself to me over the Christmas season and festivities.

Day 5

What a Friday. I got into work and already the pace was set. I had a team building event in the afternoon starting right at noon so it meant that the AM was going to need to be lived in dog years to get through the same amount of work. UGH!

I had to remain focused on the fact that my normal practice would be to allow the demands and busy-ness of my work day be enough to cut me the slack for poor food choices at the team building event.

We went for lunch first before a couple of hours of bowling. The approach I took included pulling up the menu in advance online therefore I didn't have to even open the menu...steak, grilled, no garlic butter, no garlic mashed potatoes but instead with brocollini, squash and a side salad with the dressing on the side thank you please. When dessert was offered, a cup of coffee with milk would suffice. Success.

When everyone else were indulging in snacks and drinks at the bowling alley, I savoured on the fact that I had actually had enough to eat at the lunch. I was well hydrated after drinking 2L of water since my day began...yeah...I am fine actually.

I recalled the 4:50AM walk-up call and its intention therefore was not going to undo the goodness that had been done. Look...this IS NOT EASY! I am really needing to get better prepared for the beginning of December and what will present itself to me over the Christmas season and festivities.

I am actually taking this weekend for prep in our house to ready myself for managing these celebratory events, those who will make treats and bring them to the office, year beginning 2 day planning sessions with food brought in etc. You know already that this is going to be a few weeks of pointy horns and a pitch-fork presenting itself but my faith will prevail.
